Katy Perry to perform for bushfire-affected communities in Victoria

Just a few days after her performance at the ICC T20 Women's World Cup final, international superstar Katy Perry will offer a free concert in regional Victoria for firefighters and their families.


Titled FIGHT ON, Perry's performance in Bright on March 11 is a sign of gratitude to firefighters and their communities that have been so severely affected by forest fires in recent months.

It's a cause that is close to Perry's heart, and she says that the opportunity to give a boost to people in the affected communities is something she appreciates.

"As a native of Southern California, I know firsthand the devastation of wildfires in my home communities, and was particularly disconsolate by the wildfires in Australia," Perry said.

"Australia has always given me so much love and support, so FIGHT ON is a way to return that love and help provide a little joy to a country that has given me so much joy."

Tickets for the concert are distributed to emergency services that helped save lives and property, as well as to local residents of fire-affected communities in northeast Victoria.

These tickets will be distributed through local counties and relevant emergency services agencies.

The bushfire concert is supported by the ICC T20 World Cup, Visit Victoria, TEGDainty, 160over90 and the Brighter Days Festival.

It will arrive only three days after Perry plays before and after the game at the MCG on Sunday March 8 to head the ICC Women's T20 World Cup.
